Summer Fun reminder with Oddball Art!

Morning friends, happy Monday......hope you're all well & rested after the
weekend! We've had a scorcher of a weekend & it looks set to continue for
the next 2-3 days at least. As some of you might know, I'm one of them misery
guts that doesn't like the heat so I'm not too impressed lol!
So today I have a reminder make for the Summer Fun challenge going on over
at Oddball Art, you can find all details here. I made a necklace this  time.......I
made the charms by stamping onto shrink plastic then colouring with my Copics.
Next, I die cut the shape then punched a hole at the top to hang the charms..
.then the fun part.......heating the charms with my heat  gun til they shrivel up
& shrink! Every time, I think it's not gonna work cos they twist & turn under
the heat & then it just happens....they magically flatten out to a smaller
perfectly formed version of the original & then I usually whack it with a heavy
object just to make sure it stays flat lol! I love how the colours intensify once
it's shrunk....makes my colouring look real good lol. I attached the charms to a
long seed bead & pearl necklace.......reminded me of the times my friends & me
used to sit for hours when we were kids threading beads on to lengths of
elastic........love beads we used to call them & we'd wear strings & strings
 of them.......happy days!
Thanks for calling & whatever you're up to.....have a lovely day!

Sharing an Oldie this Friday!

Morning lovelies......hope you're all well!
Anyone any idea how we've got to Friday so quickly? I swear these weeks are
moving faster than they should.....no wonder I never get done all the things I
planned .............well, that's my excuse anyway lol. Today I'm joining in with
Erika over at Snappycrafts where she invites us to share an oldie, craft style..
...... a just for fun look back at past craft projects......simply visit Erika, leave
a comment to let her know you're joining  in & you'll get comments back!
I've chosen to share a Christmas card this week..........my favourite time of the
year & something I love to prepare for. Me & Rebecca usually start in July
once she's broken up for the Summer holidays......only 3 weeks to go!
I can still remember making this card...might even use the same design this
year, maybe just change the colour scheme.
Rightio, lots to do today....thanks for calling.....see you soon!

Canvas Heart

Hi friends....hope you're all well!
This canvas has been sat in my craft room for a couple of months
now, you know when you think it needs a little 'something' but don't know
what that 'something' is? Well, I decided to share it anyway lol.....and as
it's for me if I ever decide to add something then I can share it again lol!
I started by giving it a coat of Gesso then drew the heart shape freehand.
Then the fun part.....scrunched up tissue paper & more Gesso to give
the lumpy bumpy effect!
Once dry I added a light green acrylic paint, wasn't
quite happy with the colour so took a wad of kitchen roll & dipped it
into some teal green paint. Just by dabbing here & there I kept going til I
was happy with the colour. For the heart I used just one sheet of 12x12 paper
torn into strips, I used a distress marker to highlight the joins then edged
it with some ric rac. The flowers were fussy cut from another sheet of the
same paper & I filled the centre with some beads.....last but not least, I
added some Tim Holtz chit chat stickers!
So that's me for today....would love to know what you think. Thanks for
calling......see you soon!

Too cute!

Morning friends.....no crafting to share today, just wanted to pop on & show you a couple of pics of our new housemates, aren't they gorgeous? We've had them for a week now, they're so good & great fun.....but still haven't got names!
They love to spend their days playing in my dining room.....and their evenings snuggled up
on the sofa!
Have a lovely Sunday!

A bit of gingham....

Morning friends.....hope you're all well!
Anything nice planned for the weekend? We're not doing too much...
...our Nic took his last exam yesterday & has now officially left school....think
he was as emotional as I was lol & my boy Chris has an excitingday ....
....THE VAMPS are playing a concert in our town tonight & Chris gets to cook
for them....one of the perks of being in Catering College!
I'm pretty sure we'll hear them from our house lol....or maybe we'll just
hear the hordes of screaming girls lol.
So for today's crafty offering I have a little gingham heart.....I cut the 2 large
heart  pieces freehand, stitched on a cream felt heart to one piece then
stitched them both together, stuffed them & added a ribbon for hanging, a
little cream bow & finished with a wooden snowflake!
Rightio, that's me for today....thanks for calling & whatever you're up to hope
you have fun....& a little crafty time!

Sami Stamps GDT & new release!

Hi friends, happy Friday..........hope you're all well!
At the beginning of June I was lucky enough to win 1st place over at Sami
Stamps.......and Sami invited me to join them as GDT for today's new
release.....of course, I said yes please! Sami gave me this fun image to use & I
have to be honest....I don't think I've ever coloured a frog before lol. I wanted
to try & get some texture to his body so first I coloured him with pencil
crayons then coloured over that with Copics. For his glasses I used glossy
accents, then some simple matting & layering, a computer printed sentiment
 & that's it........job done!
Do pop over & check out the new release, they're all fun!
Thanks for popping by today.....see you soon!

One slice or two?

Morning lovelies.....hope you're all well!
Something different to share today....well, I would share if there was some
left.........but we ate it all lol! My fav meal right now is a big bowl of homemade
veg soup and a slice (or two) from a homemade white crusty farmhouse loaf...
...mmmmmm, delicious! We bought a breadmaker a little while ago & love it....
..it's so easy, just chuck in all the ingredients, switch it on.....& then while
it's baking I get to go sit at my desk and play lol.
Thanks for calling......hope you manage some crafty time today!

Steampunk book page

Morning crafty bloggers.....hope you're all well!
Ooh, it's a bit breezy & wet today......and I was gonna spend the morning in
the garden too.....oh well, might just have to shut myself in my craft room
instead........after the jobs are done of course (wink wink) lol!
Today I have a book page to share.....5x5 & the theme was Steampunk.
I started with a base of Dylusion spray inks, they are soooo nice...I used a
bottle top to stamp random circles with mica paints. I brushed the same paint
over a Tim Holtz weathered clock die cut, Cheery Lynn die cut cogs &
the die cut wings. The mannequin is from Craftwork cards & covered with a
layer of crackle paint, I then added die cut wings, a cheesecloth
skirt & a chain belt....added a gem to the centre of the cogs & that's it!
The left side was left plain as that's where the holes are to be punched to
hold the book together. Rightio, that's my lot for today.....off to go grab a
cuppa & have a wander around Blogland...thanks for calling....see you soon!

matting & layering, distressed edges and a kraft & black colour combo and
that's it....job done! Talking of jobs, I've got lots to do today, especially if
I want to sneak an hour at my desk later lol. Thanks for calling today &

Fancy Folds with Crafty Calendar!

Morning lovelies.......hope you're all well & have something nice planned
for the weekend! Bright & very breezy here today so methinks I'll be
ploughing through the mountains of washing I always seem to have!
First though, I have some exciting news...........myself & Sue are now the
proud co-owners of  the Crafty Calendar challenge blog! Lynne, the previous
owner had decided to step down due to ill health & rather than close the blog
she very generously handed over the reins to us two!
So today sees the start of June's challenge, the theme is FANCY FOLDS
and we're sponsored by the fabulous Aurora Wings who are offering a
prize of  $15 to spend instore..........you will be soooo spoilt for choice!
We were lucky enough to receive a sponsor image, I chose Turtle Kiss &
after colouring her with my Copics I made an easel card, I added lots of die
cuts, distressed layers, cheesecloth, pearls, some paper flowers & finished
with some chit chat stickers from Tim Holtz.
Rightio, my friends, that's me for today.......thanks for calling & whatever
 you're up to......have a lovely weekend!

Sharing an Oldie Friday!

Morning friends......hope you're all well.
I've really missed my craft room this past week or two and I'm so sorry
for my lack of commenting, posting etc............life's thrown me a few
curveballs recently & I've realised (again) how quickly things can change.
But you know what? I still have a lot to be thankful for & I'm sure once
things start to settle down I'll find my peace at my craft desk.
So for today I'm joining in with lovely Erika over at Snappycrafts as
she hosts the weekly look back at older crafty creations. I started out as a
papercrafting as a scrapbooker  & this card was one of my very early
attempts at card making......and I still kinda like it lol. No stamping &
colouring involved, just some simple decoupage, a peel off sentiment &
some ribbons. Rightio my friends, I'm gonna leave it at that for today but
I'll be back tomorrow for the new challenge over at Crafty Calendar.
Thanks for calling.......see you soon!
